Description	:	Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home Edna L. Wenck, age 95, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. on Saturday until the time of service. Congregational hymns will be “Thine Forever”, “Abide With Me”, and “Sweet Hour of Prayer”. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Born on November 28, 1915 on her family’s farm north east of Carroll she was the daughter of Henry and Ella (Warnke) Boell. Edna is a lifelong resident of Carroll County and attended country school as a girl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. Edna was married to Clarence J. Wenck on June 2, 1937. The couple farmed and raised their family north west of Lidderdale and were active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church until they retired from farming and moved to Carroll in 1964. Edna then worked for St. Anthony Hospital in the Cafeteria until 1977. She continued to volunteer for New Hope Village and RSVP. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Rachel Circle and was an avid quilter. Edna enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, needlework, sewing, gardening, beading and she especially loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1992, four brothers: Elmer, Paul, and Floyd Boell, and George in infancy.
