Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Baptist Home, Bismarck. Burial will be in McClusky City Cemetery. She was the daughter of Fredrick Jr. and Katherine (Neff) Lauer. She grew up and attended rural school near McClusky. She married Jacob Reile Jr. on Sept. 30, 1935, in McClusky. They farmed south of town before moving into McClusky in 1950. She worked at the Red Owl Store for 18 years. She then worked as a cook's assistant at the McClusky School for one year. They moved to Bismarck in 1969. She worked at Capital Laundry and Deluxe Cleaners and retired in 1979. Jacob died on Oct. 17, 1999. Edna loved to garden and plant flowers. She spent many weekends camping and fishing. She also enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Edna is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Reile, Bismarck, and Harley and Ruth Reile, Sheridan, Wyo.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Leota and Vern Borkowski, Coon Rapids, Minn., and Peggy and Bill Backman, Mandan; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; her brothers, Melvin (Doris), Bismarck, LeRoy (Alice), McClusky, Raymond (Marcella), Bismarck, and Lloyd (Jan) McClusky; her sisters, Viola Murray, Minot, and Shirley (Bill) Wilson, Coleharbor; and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Theodore, Rudolph and Albert; her sisters, Adeline Lauer, Violet Lauer, Ruby Wahl, Freda Broeckel and Darlene Roth; and her daughter-in-law, Donna Reile in 2002.
