Burial will be in McClusky City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, both at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Ted was born May 17, 1918, at rural McClusky. He was the son of Fred and Katie (Neff) Lauer. He attended school in Pickardville. He then served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He married Emma Helm on Nov. 15, 1937, in McClusky. He worked on area farms until 1940. He was also a mechanic for John Dahl & Company. They moved to a farm two miles south of McClusky in 1941 and purchased it several years later. They moved into McClusky in 1981. He continued being active on the family farm helping his son, Gerald, until becoming ill in 1997. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and served on the McClusky Co-op Elevator and McClusky Township boards. Ted is survived by his wife, Emma; his three sons, Leslie and fiancee Sharon Nelson, Minot, Gerald and daughter-in-law, Barbara, McClusky, Rodney, Bismarck; two daughters and one son-in-law, Inez and Gerald Krein, Bismarck, Betty Allen, Minot; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Rudy, Melvin and Raymond, all of Bismarck, and LeRoy and Lloyd, both of McClusky; and four sisters, Edna Reile and Frieda Broeckel, both of Bismarck, Viola Murray, Minot, and Shirley Wilson, Coleharbor. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Darlene Roth, Ruby Wahl, Violet Lauer and Adeline Lauer; and one brother, Albert Lauer. (Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky)
