She was born in Surry County on April 9, 1912 to the late Ernie Monroe and Ella Mooney Coe. She was a homemaker and a member of Copeland Baptist Church. Survivors include a niece, Brenda and husband Earlie Coe of Dobson; a nephew Alan and wife Susan Coe and great-nieces Lori Coe Wyble, Shannon Coe Brettl, Myra Coe and Jennifer Coe White.
