She was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Eight Mile Old German Baptist Church. She married Edward L. Smith on Sept. 2, 1919, at her parents' home near Centropolis. He died Oct. 31, 1966. Survivors include two sons, Alvin Edward Smith, Mission, Tex., and John Wilson Smith, Houston; two daughters, Vesta Marie Wray, rural Ottawa, and Martha Irene Mohler, Burlington, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
