Description	:	Edna Margaret Nelson youngest daughter of John W. and Eliza D. Nelson was born near Mt. Zion, Iowa, January 1, 1876, and passed away at her home at 3310 Cornell St., Des Moines, IA. Friday, December 21, 1928, at 7:30 a.m. Age 52 years, 11 months, and 21 days. Her girlhood days were spent in this neighborhood except four years while she attended Drake University at Des Moines, graduating from the Conservatory of music at that place. Her girlhood days were spent in this neighborhood except four years while she attended Drake University at Des Moines, graduating from the Conservatory of music at that place. She was married Oct. 4, 1905, to Webb Barker of Mt. Zion, Iowa, and to this union were born five children: William, Phillip, Darrell, Zoe, Betheen. In 1895 she united with the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church and was always a willing worker in all departments, giving special help in the music and training of the children. The family moved to Des Moines in 1920 which has since been her home. She transferred her membership to the Highland Park Presbyterian church. At the time of her death she was chairman of S.E. division of the Golden year circle, chairman of foreign board program committee and a member of the choir of this church. She was President of the Parent Teachers Association for two years of the Saylor school and chairman of publicity committee of Warren Harding P.T. A. Besides the husband and children she leaves the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. J.F. Murphy, of Vinita, Okla.; Mrs. M.E. Perkins, of Lewiston, Idaho; Mrs. O.S. Calhoun, of Birmingham, Iowa, Mrs. Todd Hootman and John E. Nelson of Mt. Zion neighborhood. Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Presbyterian church, Sunday, Dec. 23, in charge of Rev. Samuel Wiley, assisted by the pastor H.C. Irvine of Birmingham. She was laid to rest in the Miller Chapel cemetery near her childhood home.
