Description	:	Edna Mary Voran was born June 27, 1895 to Peter D. and Mary Krehbiel Graber near Murdock, Kan. Due to the death of her mother, she was raised in the Jacob P. Goering home from infancy. Her childhood and youth were spent in the Murdock community where she attended the public school. On July 28, 1912 she was baptized by C. J. Voran upon her confession of faith, and was accepted as a member into the Bethany Mennonite Church of Kingman, Kan. She was united in marriage to Fred E. Voran on Aug. 29, 1919. Due to the death of her mother, she was raised in the Jacob P. Goering home from infancy. Her childhood and youth were spent in the Murdock community where she attended the public school. On July 28, 1912 she was baptized by C. J. Voran upon her confession of faith, and was accepted as a member into the Bethany Mennonite Church of Kingman, Kan. She was united in marriage to Fred E. Voran on Aug. 29, 1919. To them were born five children, three sons and two daughters. Early in their marriage they were engaged in business in Belmont, Kan., but spent most of their years on a farm near Belmont. Upon retirement they resided in Kingman, Kan. The home and church were the predominant interests in mother's life. She and father had a keen interest in Christian education and made provision for educational opportunities for their children. Music, especially the hymns of the church, played a vital part in the home. The entire family recalls with great joy how we were able to be together this past Christmas to sing hymns and carols and the "Hallelujah Chorus." Mother devoted herself to caring for father in his failing health since their retirement. After she could no longer take care of him in their home, father entered a personal care home. Mother had been in failing health for some time, and in recent months was admitted to the Anthony Hospital for surgery. She regained enough strength to visit her children in their homes once more. She was again admitted to the hospital on July 15 and died there on the 21st, attaining the age of 70 years and 24 days. Those preceding her in death were her parents and foster parents; two brothers, John and Chris Graber; one sister, Elizabeth, who died in infancy; one half-brother, Jacob D. Graber; one half-sister, Frieder Graber Sickman. Those who survive and cherish her memory are her husband, Fred E. Voran of the Unruh Personal Care Home, McPherson, Kan.; her children, Dallas of Yala, Thailand, Helen and husband Orville Voth and children of Salina, Kan., Paul and wife Benetta and children of Kingman, Kan., Mary and husband John Gaeddert and children of Henderson, Neb., Robert and wife Lois and children of Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, Herman D. Graber of Pretty Prairie, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie and Mrs. Helen Gering Brown of Murdock; four half-brothers, Edward P. and Albert Graber of Arlington, Kan., Harold W.
