Park, daugher of William and Lorena Park, was born on a farm near Victor, Iowa, April 18, 1894, and passed away at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Stratton, near Ladora, Monday morning, July 21, 1958, at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 3 days. She was given the best of care by her two brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. George Stratton and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Border. She was united in marriage to Ben H. Hart on April 2 1919, and they farmed the first three years in the Victor community, later moving to Deep River, where Mr. Hart operated a gas station for nine years. Then they moved to Des Moines, where the home was made until two years ago. At that time Mrs. Hart came to live with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Stratton of Ladora, spending two winters with them in Florida, just returning to Iowa in May. Edna, all who knew here, accepted Christ as her Saviour about 25 years ago and became a faithful member of the Pilgrim Church of Des Moines. She was a kind and devoted wife, a good friend, and a neighbor to everyone, always ready to help her family or friends. She always had a cheerful smile for all who knew her, and was a patient sufferer during her long illness, always waiting on herself as long as she could, as she didn't want to be a burden to anyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, in their homes, the church, and the communities where she lived and made friends. She leaves to mourn her passing, her aged mother, Mrs. Lenora Park; four sisters, Mrs. Alex Robinson and Mrs. Marvin Huston, both of Des Moines, Mrs. Clarence Border and Mrs. George Stratton of Ladora, one brother, Vernon Park of Marengo; besides other relatives and many friends. Her husband, father and one infant brother preceded her in death, the husband passing away in 1946. Funeral services were held from the McAninch chapel Wednesday, July 23, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. E. Boone of Des Moines officiating. Two songs, "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden," were sung by the Rev. and Mrs. Richard Stoneberg, with Keith Eggert, organist. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Elizabeth Muller, Mrs. Lois McAdam, Mrs. Margaret Daniels, and Mrs. Kathleen Eggert. Casket bearers were William Henry, George Lehman, Elmer Eggert, George Dale, Erwin Bohstedt, and Leland Hart. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Victor beside her husband.
