Description	:	Edna Woehl was born December 1, 1924 to John and Mary (Bohnet) Woehl at home in Carlock Township. Emma was Edna’s twin sister who did not survive and passed away after three days of life. Mother Mary and infant Edna stayed at home while John and the children attended Emma’s funeral in Carlock via horse-drawn sleigh. Edna grew up on the farm, the third youngest of ten children. Emma was Edna’s twin sister who did not survive and passed away after three days of life. She graduated from Burke High School in 1943 and upon graduation, began working at Missouri Valley Mutual Insurance Company of Burke. Several years later she moved to Milbank, South Dakota where she was employed by Milbank Mutual until her retirement. At that time she moved to Gregory, South Dakota to be near family and friends. Edna was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Burke, a choir member, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Grace Luther Women’s Society. She enjoyed quilt making, knitting, crocheting, traveling and her flowers. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sisters; three brothers; five sisters; six brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Edna is survived by her sister, Martha Elwart of Chicago, IL; niece, Jeanette (Milo) Jelinek of Gregory, SD; and Estell Sinclair of Mitchell, SD; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
