Miss Margaret Brennan, a daughter, was with him when he died, and Sister Mary Alfred of Somerset, O., Alfred Brennan of Burlington, Wis., and Rev. Robert Brennan, O.P., of Montreal, Canada, reached Lima Wednesday night. Lt. Ralph Brennan is expected Thursday. All are children. The position of roundhouse foreman was held from 1905 until his retirement in 1936. He was born in Lima Jan. 15, 1871, son of Edward and Mary Fehey Brennan, both of whom were immigrants from Queen's-co, Ireland. He attended St. Rose parochial school, and became affiliated with the Baltimore and Ohio railroad when he was 16, serving as a machinist until his appointment as foreman. In 1896, Brennan married Bridget O'Brien, daughter of Patrick and Bridget (Noonan) O'Brien, who died in 1913. In addition to the children who were at his bedside is Cyril J. of Lima. A daughter, Mrs. Mary Abt of Ada, is dead. Brennan was a life member of St. Rose parish and since retiring from the railroad had been active in St. Vincent de Paul work. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years, the Catholic Order of Foresters and an officer of Holy Name society. For 25 years he had been a member of the Third Order of St Dominic and will be buried in the white habit of the Dominican order. In addition to the immediate family, Brennan is survived by a brother, John, of W. McKibben-st; two sisters, Miss Sarah Brennan and Mrs. Bridget Carrig of N. McDonel-st and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose church with his son, Rev. Fr. Robert Brennan, in charge. Burial will be made in Gethsemane cemetery. The body is at the family residence in 451 W. McKibben-st. Arrangements are in charge of O'Connell and Doolin. (published in The Lima News, Thursday, October 21, 1943)
