Description	:	Obit: Edward D. Roesler, the son of Edward A. and Caroline E. Volk Roesler was born May 23, 1930 near Tobias, Nebraska and died at his home in rural Western October 10, 1998 at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 17 days. He grew up on a farm southeast of Tobias and attended Church School and graduated from Tobias High School with the class of 1948. Volk Roesler was born May 23, 1930 near Tobias, Nebraska and died at his home in rural Western October 10, 1998 at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 17 days. He grew up on a farm southeast of Tobias and attended Church School and graduated from Tobias High School with the class of 1948. He helped his family farm and entered the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1952-1954. After his discharge he was united in marriage to Esther M. Jordening on March 7, 1954 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Daykin. The couple made their home in the Western area where they farmed and he was a dairyman. For 30 years he was employed with the American Breeders Service (ABS). He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Tobias, where he was on the Parish Board of Education, elder, congregational chairman, Mission treasurer and trustee for the church. He also was involved in the Lutheran Laymen's League. Survivors include his wife, mother, children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Preceding him in death were his father, granddaughter Jill Marie Roesler, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law. Services were Oct. 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Tobias with burial in the church cemetery.
