Thomsen, 56, of Arlington, died Friday morning, March 24th, from injuries he suffered in a farm accident approximately 4 ½ years ago. Mr. Thomsen was seriously injured when he became caught in the power take-off between a tractor and an elevator on his farm on November 7, 1967. Services for Mr. Thomsen will be Monday afternoon, March 27th, at the Arlington Community Church at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Leo Zilling will officiate with Reckmeyer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with Masonic Graveside services and the Arlington American Legion firing squad. Mr. Thomsen is survived by his wife, Elois, of Arlington, and three sons. The sons are: Jay, Stuart and James, all of Arlington. Also surviving are two daughters. They are Mrs. Gay (Mirium) Landberg and Mrs. Gene (Natalie) Wachholtz, both of Omaha. There is also one surviving brother, Harold, of Fremont, and a sister, Mrs. Leslie (Pearl) Oerman of Herman. There is also one granddaughter. Mr. Thomsen’s accident took place at the time when traffic on Highway 30, which runs past their farm east of Arlington, had been diverted from the highway while widening work took place. Mr. Thomsen lay injured for some time before he was found. Mr. Thomsen was taken to the Dodge County Hospital in Fremont, then to the Veterans Hospital in Omaha, for approximately four weeks, before being transferred to the Veterans Administration Hospital at Grand Island. He was a patient in the Grand Island Hospital when he passed away on March 24th. Mr. Thomsen never regained enough consciousness, following the accident, to readily recognize family or friends. Mr. Thomsen was a farmer in the Arlington area most of his life. Mr. Thomsen was a Past Master of Hiram Lodge A. F. and A.M. and Past Patron of Sarepta 48 Chapter of O.E.S.
