Elois was born December 24, 1918 on a farm near Neligh, NE to Robert and Jeanette (Moore) McFetters. The family moved to Fremont in 1924. She was a 1935 graduate of Fremont High, and later Midland College. In 1942, she married Edward D. Thomsen and after his death in 1972, she married Roy "Wayne" Pittman 1978. Pittman, 99 years, of Arlington, NE., passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Elois was born December 24, 1918 on a farm near Neligh, NE to Robert and Jeanette (Moore) McFetters. The family moved to Fremont in 1924. She was a 1935 graduate of Fremont High, and later Midland College. In 1942, she married Edward D. Thomsen and after his death in 1972, she married Roy "Wayne" Pittman 1978. Wayne passed away in 1992. She was a member of the Arlington Community Church where she served as president of the Women's Fellowship, Sunday school teacher, confirmation mentor, and served on the church council. Elois was a past Matron and a 50 year member of Sarepta Chapter #48, Order of Eastern Star at Arlington. Other activities she was involved with included, volunteer librarian, Legion Auxiliary, Arlington Housing Authority, Arlington Senior Center, and served on the school board of Whitford School in Washington County. She was an elementary school teacher for 29 years, teaching at Orum and Arlington Public Schools. She is survived by daughters, Miriam Landberg of Temecula, CA and Natalie (Gene) Wachholtz of Kansas City, MO; sons, Jay (Linda) Thomsen of Arlington, and Jim (Debbie) Thomsen of Torrington, WY; daughter-in-law, Brenda (Thomsen) Roerty of Mineral, VA; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; husbands, Edward and Wayne; son, Stuart Thomsen; brother, Robert McFetters; grandson, James Thomsen; step-daughter, Carol Boise; son-in-law, Gary Landberg. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January 5, 2018 at Arlington Community Church in Arlington, NE. The Rev. David Paul will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with a Order of Eastern Star service at 7PM. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Arlington City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Arlington Community Church, the Arlington Library, or the Arlington Legion Auxiliary. (mosermemorialchapels.com/obituary)
