He was retired from Ford Motor Company and also the active and reserve army. He served in World War II and was a member of Manntown Congregational Holiness Church in Glen St. Mary. Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his father, Rev. W.S. Crews Sr, founder of Manntown Congregational Holiness Church, and mother, Daisey Ola Crews and a son, Philip Crews. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Crews, one daughter, Debbie Bell and son-in-law, Joe Bell of Manchester, TN, one son, Edward Dale Crews and daughter-in-law Carrie Crews of Lawtey. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at Manntown Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. David Hodges officiating with burial in Manntown Cemetery. Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke in charge of arrangements. Family received friends Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
