Description	:	Edward Duane Wallin, son of Edward R. and Hilda Carlson Wallin, was born May 7, 1920 on a farm in Page County, Rural Essex, Iowa and passed away February 24, 1994 at the Harris Methodist Hospital, H.E.B. in Bedford, Texas. He grew up in the rural Essex community and graduated High School in 1937. On June 4, 1944, Duane was united in marriage to Regina nelson at the Bethesda Lutheran Church. He grew up in the rural Essex community and graduated High School in 1937. On June 4, 1944, Duane was united in marriage to Regina nelson at the Bethesda Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they farmed northeast of Essex, and to this union three daughters, Carol, Nancy, and Jeanine, were born. In 1956 they moved into Essex. Besides farming, Duane had worked at the Farmer's Telephone Co., Roberts Dairy, Johnson Brother's Mill, and was the school board district secretary for Essex Community Schools for 26 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, Essex Commercial Club, Shenandoah Rotary Club, and was a member of the original Southwest Iowa Men's Chorus. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Helen Lindell. He is survived by his wife, Regina of Essex, Iowa, three daughters, Carol and husband Tom Sandholm of Montezuma, Iowa, Nancy Wallin and her husband Gerald Brazell of Euless, Texas, Jeanine and her husband Todd Schademann of Omaha, Nebraska; and three grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, and Bryan Sandholm. Also surviving are two sisters, Edna Nelson of villisca, Iowa, Blanche Pierson of Wichita, Kansas, one brother Glenn Wallin of Shenandoah, Iowa, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
