BEHRENS DIES SUDDENLY THURSDAY The community was shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Edward Behrens Thursday, who has been stationed in the Azore Island in millitary service. BEHRENS DIES SUDDENLY THURSDAY The community was shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Edward Behrens Thursday, who has been stationed in the Azore Island in millitary service. The family here were not aware of his illness until several days before his death. Staff Sergeant Edward E. Behrens , son of Mr. And Mrs. Minert Behrens, was born at Adams, Nebr. on February 17, 1928. On May 4 of that year he was baptized in the Christian faithat the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Following instructions, he was confirmed at the congregation on June 1, 1941. He attended Adams High School graduating from ther in 1944. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force in which he served until the present time. On November 4, 1954, he was united in marriage with Jane Henry, In recent years they made their home in Aurora, Colo. In addition to his wife and his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Kay, one son, Steven, one step-daughter, Sue, all of the home; two brothers, Leon of Adams and Harvey of Sterling; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Rickman of Lincoln, Mrs. Norma Jean Huetson of Crete and Mrs. Frances Seyler of Sacramento , Calif., and many relatives and friends. Following a brief illness, Edward was called from this life on January 11, 1952, at the age of 33 years, 10 months and 25 days. Funeral services were conducted at the Adams American Luthrran Church Tuesday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. Harold Grunstal , officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery where millitary honors were accorded at the graveside services. Servive men from Lincoln Air Force Base were present. Adams Weekly Globe Thursday 18, 1962 p. 1
