Description	:	Edward Rozanek was born May 7, 1910, on the family farm southeast of Exeter to Josef and Rose Polic Rozanek. He was the oldest of three children in the family. He enjoyed Czech music and was proud... Read More	Edward Rozanek was born May 7, 1910, on the family farm southeast of Exeter to Josef and Rose Polic Rozanek. He was the oldest of three children in the family. He passed away April 11, 1990, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 4 days. He attended District 95 country school, and on August 1, 1932, Ed was united in marriage to Leota A. Wilson of Geneva. To this union one son, Rene, was born. Ed loved the farm. He enjoyed Czech music and was proud of his Czech heritage. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Ed had an uncanny ability to remember dates, such as birthdays and anniversaries, and was often called on by family members to recall dates of special events. He and Leota made their home on the family farm for the majority of their 54 years of married life. In 1966, Ed lost his sight, and was forced to retire, and in 1971, he and Leota moved to town, where they especially enjoyed visiting with their neighbors. In 1986, due to failing health, Ed was admitted to the Bethesda Care Center in Exeter, eh later was transferred to the Fairview Manor in Fairmont. It was in these homes that he received loving care and worked his way into the hearts of the staff with his sense of humor and quick wit. Ed will be remembered by all who knew him as an honest, gentle, gererous and humble man. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Leota; and sister, Blanche Sokolik. He is survived by his son, Rene, and wife, June; granddaughters, Renae and her husband, Darrell Griess of Hastings, Suzan of Exeter; a grandson, David of Exeter; his sister, Edith Oenbring of Lincoln, and one great-granddaughter, Leigh Griess of Hastings. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, April 14, from the Farmer Funeral Home in Exeter with Rev. Jack Scavo officiating. Mrs. Ed Votipka accompanied Curtis Prater, who sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "In the Garden." Those servings as pallbearers were DAvid Rozanek, Darrell Griess, Robert Vasatka, Ron Jindra, Emil Odvody, and Joe Sladek. Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal April 19, 1990 Son of Josef and Rose (Polic) Rozanek. Husband of Leota A. (Wilson) Rozanek. They were married on August 1, 1932.
