(Source: Douglas County, NE Marriage Records) ==================================================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, December 30, 1937 Edward (sic) Edwards, a well known figure about Superior (and Nelson) for many years passed away at Hardy Saturday (December 18). He had been staying there with two bachelor acquaintances for about two weeks. He had been in poor health for some time, and complained of lost appetite and inability to sleep. He was 70 years of age. Mr. Edwards was born in Logan county (sic), Illinois. In 1904 he came to Nebraska, first living at Omaha and later moving to Nelson. In 1925 he came to Superior and was employed at the Henningson Produce company. He was married twice at coming to Nuckolls county (sic) and has two step-grandsons, King and John Cruse by his first marriage. His second marriage was to Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher of Nelson on December 3, 1927. Both of his wives preceded him in death. Short funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.A. Stockwell Monday afternoon and burial was at Evergreen cemetery (sic). - The Superior Journal
