Description	:	SCHROPFER, EDWARD F.—Edward F. Schropfer of Geneva lost his life in an unfortunate accident near Geneva, Thursday, February 26, 1964. He was aged 54 years, 11 months and 2 days. The accident occurred while trimming trees with a county road crew. Edward F. Schropfer was born in Geneva, Neb., March 25, 1909, to Andrew W. and Amelia Schropfer. He farmed for many years west of Geneva,... Read More	SCHROPFER, EDWARD F.—Edward F. Schropfer of Geneva lost his life in an unfortunate accident near Geneva, Thursday, February 26, 1964. He was aged 54 years, 11 months and 2 days. The accident occurred while trimming trees with a county road crew. Edward F. Schropfer was born in Geneva, Neb., March 25, 1909, to Andrew W. and Amelia Schropfer. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Ed was united in marriage on December 29, 1931, to Ellen Tracy. To this union were born two children, Mary Ellen and Edward Dean. He farmed for many years west of Geneva, before he moved to Geneva in 1943. He was employed by the state highway department many years, Nichols Construction Company, Geneva Transfer and at the Fillmore County shop. Preceding him in death were his mother in 1949 and his father in 1952. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Mrs. Francis Briggs of Council Bluffs, his son, Edward D. stationed at Ft. Lewis, Wash., his brother, George L. of Geneva, five grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Monday, March 2. Rev. Alden b. Sears officiated. Mrs. H. A. Rosenau sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Beautiful Isle,” accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Olson. Pallbearers were Carl Schneider, Max Schropfer, Dale Schropfer, John Bures, John Carl and Lewis Grothe. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
