Mr. Brady was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Scottsbluff to Raymond G. and Julianna K. (vonDeVriendt) Brady. His family moved to Lincoln where he attended Lincoln High School and graduated from Rokeby High School in 1946. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Terror in the South Pacific during World War II. He was discharged in 1947 and attended the University of Nebraska. He married Barbara Withrow on Feb. 17, 1950, at Lincoln where the couple lived while he continued his schooling. They lived in several western states before returning to Nebraska in 1967 and to Shelton in 1971. He was a civil engineer in Grand Island and retired in 2001 due to ill health. He was a member of the church and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Shelton, and Masonic Lodge and Professional Engineers Club of Grand Island. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Mary Brady of Lincoln, and Jeb and Dee Brady of Gering; brothers, Richard and George, both of Lincoln and Jerry of Scottsbluff; sisters, Eileen Dresselhaus of Lincoln, and Marie Borchers of Yuma, Ariz.; and nine grandchildren. www.genealogybank.com Contributor: Kathy Monical (49101662)
