Edward Husak, 72 of 1407 Sunset Drive, Apt. 31, Belle Plaine died unexpectedly at his home early Tuesday morning. He had been in his usual health and his death was attributed to a heart condition. Born May 16, 1908 in Czechoslovakia he was the son of Ed and Vincenie Husak. He came to this country at the age of four. He grew to manhood in the Clutier area. In 1931 he enlisted in the U. S. Army and made a career in the Military for 22 years. Being discharged in 1953. He was united in marriage on February 5, 1938 in South Dakota to Miss Bessie J. Seda of Sturgis, South Dakota. Upon retiring from the Military the couple moved to Vining where Mr. Husak took employment with the Clutier State Bank in Vining, until complete retirement in 1965 after 12 1/2 years. In 1977 they moved to Traer where they resided until last November when they moved to Belle Plaine. Mr. Husak was a member of the Catholic Church and the Clutier American Legion. Preceding him in death were his father, his step-father and a step-brother. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Betty J. (Clarence) Turnis of Cedar Rapids, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his mother, Mrs. Vincinie Buresh of Vining, a half sister, Mrs. Dorothy Belton of Tama and a step-sister, Mrs. Emma Podhajsky of Manchester. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
