Read More	Cascade Pioneer, July 31, 1930, page 5, column 5 Death Summons John Edward Supple Well known Citizen Called After Lingering Illness from Heart Affection John Edward Supple, well known and popular resident, of Cascade, died at his home in West Cascade at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 29th, after a lingering illness of many months from heart disease. Mr. Supple was a son of the late John and Mary Supple and was born on the farm in Clay township, Jones County, Iowa, June 6, 1873, and for 36 years lived and worked upon the old homestead. In 1909, he came to Cascade and engaged, in the general blacksmithing and jobbing business with his brother, the late James A. Supple, and since the death of his brother in 1923, had continued the business to the present time. He was married. January 17, 1906, to Miss Catherine McQuillen at the Cathedral in Dubuque. She survives him; also his sisters, Mrs. McNally and; Mrs. Julia Flannagan [sic s/b Flanigan], of Cascade; Mrs. Rose Gearhart of Mason City, Iowa and his brother, Thomas Supple, of Castle Grove. Besides his parents, the deceased is preceded in death by his brother, James A. Supple, and sister, Miss Libbie Supple. "Ed," as he was familiarly known to his many friends, was a man of congenial disposition and popular with all classes of people who had been deeply concerned over his illness, and are sincerely sorrowful on account of his death, and extend to the bereaved wife and brother and sisters their heartfelt sympathy. The funeral services were held this (Thursday) morning at 9 o'clock at St. Martin's Church, where Rev. T. Rooney officiated in the requiem mass. The pallbearers were George Graham, Frank Boyle, Joe Kenneally, Thomas Flannagan, W. B. Fagan, A. V. Devlin, John Knepper, and J. J. Bisenius.
