Demerath, son of John and Elizabeth (Losselyong) Demerath, was born April 15, 1922 at Stanton, NE. He attended St. Ludger Academy and Antelope County Dist. #22 school. Ed served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948 as a Seaman First Class. He was married to Marguerite Frisch on September 14, 1948 at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. Six children were born to them, Marilyn, James, Robert, Mary Ellen, Marcia and Monica. They lived and farmed six miles west and 3/4 mile south of Plainview for 36 years before retiring to Creighton. Ed was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton and was also a lifetime member of VFW Post #1151, the Knights of Columbus Creighton Council #1238 and the Senior Citizens Club. During his lifetime he served on many community and church boards. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite of Creighton; children and their spouses, Jim and Jane Demerath, Bob and Ann Demerath, Marilyn and John Orr, Mary Ellen and Mark Bushfield, Marcia and Gill Wright, Monica and Tom Greer; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Tichy and Dorothy Frisch and many relatives and friends.
