"Jack" Demerath Jr., son of John P. and Elizabeth (Losselyong) Demerath Sr., was born May 22, 1919 at Stanton. He attended rural school south of Brunswick and St. Ludger Academty in Creighton. He was married to Angline Braband on November 28, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin. They were the parents of two children, Ruth and Richard. John lived in the Stanton, Brunswick, Creighton and Plainview areas and farmed his entire life. He served on several co-operative boards and on the Antelope County Extension Board. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainview, Knights of Columbus and Senior Citizens of Plainview. John passed away October 29, 2002 at Alpine Village Nursing Home in Verdigre at the age of 83. Survivors include his daughter and husband, Ruth M. and Alvin Risinger and son, Richard and Linda Demerath of Plainview; six grandchildren; brother, Ed Demerath of Creighton and three sisters, Ann Jelinek and Betty Tichy of Verdigre and Dorothy Frisch of Creighton.
