Ed was born on October 24, 1933 in Boone County to Clarence and Dorothy (Bennett) Miller. Ed graduated from Jordan High School in 1951. Miller of Boone passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at Mary Greeley Medical Center at the age of 83 years. Ed was born on October 24, 1933 in Boone County to Clarence and Dorothy (Bennett) Miller. Ed graduated from Jordan High School in 1951. Afterwards he served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a VFW and American Legion member. Ed married Marie Roby on November 25, 1956. The couple lived and farmed in Boone County for 50 plus years before moving to Boone in 2004. He also worked as a substitute rural mail carrier for many years. In his younger days Ed played fast-pitch softball for the Boone Merchants. He was an avid bowler for many years. Ed loved visiting with family and friends, meeting his buddies for breakfast and the usual 4:00 meeting. He enjoyed taking his dogs for a ride and teasing his grandkids. Ed was a fan of jigsaw puzzles, Suduko, and black jellybeans. He will be greatly missed by many. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Miller, two siblings, Donald Miller and Arlene (Miller) Wirtz. Ed is survived by his wife Marie Miller of Boone; his children: Steve (Lori) Miller of Boone, Jill (Craig) Stangl of Coon Rapids, and Tracy (Rod) Graves of Boone; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; other relatives and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
