Married Nancy Starr Rigby in 1913. From Dick Baith, 02/12/2019: Not to pick nits but I think that it would be nearly impossible for Edward Flickinger to have been born on June 15, 1873. First off he appears on the 1870 census, meaning he had to have been born before July 16, 1870, the date of the census. With him being listed as 8 years old he was likely born in 1861 or 1862 depending on whether or not the age was recorded they way it is supposed to be as of the official census date and not the day he was enumerated. On the 1880 census he is listed as being 17. On the 1900 census he is shown as 32 born July 1862 His brother Philip was born September 14, 1872 which is 9 months and 1 day before June 15, 1873. I know at least one woman who had children only slightly more than 9 months apart (She was pregnant again when she took the previous child in for a six weeks checkup) but I don't think that happens often. At least I would hope so for the woman's sake. (BTW the two children, a boy and a girl, were often taken for twins since they were so close in age and they looked so much alike) As for his given age when he married in 1913, it is obvious from his signature on the license that he did not write the information on the application so who ever wrote it (most likely Lena Ells) could have made an error. It's also possible that his incorrect age was given intentionally for who knows what reason? So despite all of the other dates and ages given for him, it seems that the 1862 DOB for him is the most likely one. His mother's name is also another puzzler. I don't recall all of the variations we found on her name but I think we finally determined that it was originally Euphrosina Mitschele until it was "Americanized" to Eva Ann Rose Mitchell. At least that is how I have her.
