A vigil is 7 this evening at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s, with burial in Tiger Butte Cemetery. Kirby of Brady, Roy Kirby of Great Falls and Tim Kirby of Somers. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Edward Lawrence Kirby was born June 14, 1960, a son of Tom and Nina Kirby, in Great Falls, Mont., where he was raised. He attended Great Falls Public Schools, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1978. Furthering his education, he attended Flathead Community College Montana State University in Bozeman and Western Montana College in Dillon. He married Kathy Hampton on Sept. 11, 1993; they later divorced. Edward was employed with several businesses during his working years. He worked for Coors Distributing in Great Falls, Thrasher Ranch, Larry Johnson Ranch, UPS in Great Falls, and several other ranches in the Belt and Tiger Butte area. He was currently county extension agent for wood control in White Sulphur and Billings. Ed participated in the Montana Centennial Cattle Drive and was a cook with the Drovers Chuckwagons in September of 1989. He also participated in a cattle drive with the Western Stock Growers of Alberta in 1991, and served on the board of directors of the Montana Cowboys Association and Museum. Among his favorite things were over-the-fire cooking, working with horses and dancing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dan.
