Description	:	Edward Lee Ohrt, the son of Gustave and Emma (Schroeder) Ohrt, was born in Cedar County, Iowa on December 18, 1922. He lived his youth in Cedar and Jones counties in Iowa and attended Cedar County rural schools. On January 10, 1942 he was united in marriage to Florence Peden at Tipton, Iowa and to this union four children were born. Following their marriage they resided at Mechanicsville, Springdale, West Branch, Monticello and six years ago they came to make their home in Sanborn. Read More	Edward Lee Ohrt, the son of Gustave and Emma (Schroeder) Ohrt, was born in Cedar County, Iowa on December 18, 1922. He lived his youth in Cedar and Jones counties in Iowa and attended Cedar County rural schools. On January 10, 1942 he was united in marriage to Florence Peden at Tipton, Iowa and to this union four children were born. Following their marriage they resided at Mechanicsville, Springdale, West Branch, Monticello and six years ago they came to make their home in Sanborn. While living in Sanborn they had co-operated the Bowl-Mor Lanes and Cafe. Ed passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. on May 3, 1988 at the age of 65 years, four months and 15 days. He is survived by bis wife, Florence, of Sanborn; children: Carl of Cedar Rapids, Mearl of Sanborn, Mrs. Robert (Rebecca) Monster of Monticello, and Mrs. Michael (Penny) Haag of Sanborn; 11 grandchildren; two brothers: Richard of Tipton and Donald of West Branch; five sisters: Mrs. William (Edna) Young of Lisbon, Ia., Mrs. Richard (Velma) Musile of Cambridge, Neb., Mrs. Harry (Wiona) Lange of Boulder City, Mo., Mrs. Everett (June) Kabrick of Cedar Rapids, la. and Mrs. Richard (Paula) Hubler of Tipton, la. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Sanborn. Funeral services were held May 6 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sanborn with Rev. William Haak officiating. Casket bearers were Ronald Ohrt, Daniel Ohrt, Scott Ohrt, Ramo Ohrt, Bruce Menster, Peter Haag, Paul Haag, and Jerry Buren. Honorary bearers were Doug Rubsam, Tommy Hadden, John Knock, John McCarty, LeRoy Venenga, and Wilbur Smith. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
