Description	:	The funeral of Edward Liston, of Liberty township, was largely attended Friday. Mr Liston had gone to the home of his brother John Liston near Clemons, on Wednesday, to spend the day where a number of the family were invited in honor of his niece, Miss Winifred O'Niel of Chicago, who was here on her vacation. Mr Liston had gone to the home of his brother John Liston near Clemons, on Wednesday, to spend the day where a number of the family were invited in honor of his niece, Miss Winifred O'Niel of Chicago, who was here on her vacation. Shortly after dinner while talking with the company in his usual jovial way, he dropped from his chair. They hastened to him and did all possible. Dr Turner was immediately called, but life was extinct when he arrived. Mr Liston was born in Ireland seventy nine years ago, and has resided on his farm six miles north of Clemons for almost fifty years. "Uncle Ned" as he was familiarly called, will be greatly missed in the community in which he resided, for he was respected by all who knew him. Five children survive him - Mrs T W Cloffey of Marietta, Martin of Albion, Margaret of Marshalltown, and Kate and James residing at home. Mrs Liston died four years ago last May. He is also survived by three brothers - John of Clemons, Martin and Cornelius of Denver, Colorado; and two sisters, Mrs George Lent of Clemons and Mrs O'Neil of Ireland. His pallbearers were Messrs H P, Charles Dunn, Edd and John Flanagan, John Cloffey and Will Liston. He received many beautiful floral tributes, and was laid to rest in the cemetery in the Dunn settlement. Monday, August 22, 1904 Evening Times Republican
