He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Emilie J. (Merrill) Hoye, in 2002; and one daughter, N. Deborah Hardesty, in 2002. He attended the Deer Park Church of God of Prophesy. He was a tractor-trailer driver for the Hill Top Fruit Market, Grantsville, Wood Products Inc., Oakland, and other companies. He was a former member of Company C, Maryland National Guard, Oakland. He is survived by his wife, Catherine R. (Simon) Elliott) Hoye; four daughters, R. Renee (Hoye) Kitzmiller, Deer Park, Tonya M. (Hoye) Collins, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Mary Lou (Simon) Walker, Swanton, and Judy (Simon) Keplinger, Fairmont, W.Va.; one son, Michael L. Hoye, Oakland; one sister, Judy A. Harvey, Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Warren D Hoye, Tacoma, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was held on Monday, Nov. 21, with the Rev. John Osborne officiating.
