Description	:	Edward M. Farr Edward was born May 31, 1927 in Ripley Oklahoma. And passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Arbor Manor, in Fremont Nebraska. His parents were Robert and Bertha (Jerome) Farr. After attending school in many places in the southern states, the family moved to a farm near Hooper. And passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at Arbor Manor, in Fremont Nebraska. His parents were Robert and Bertha (Jerome) Farr. After attending school in many places in the southern states, the family moved to a farm near Hooper. In the fall of 1944, he moved to Bunkie, La., where he worked in the oil fields. He enlisted in the United States Navy on May 31, 1945, and after six weeks, transfered to the SeeBees. He married Rose K. Groeteke on Dec. 16. 1946, in Fremont Neb; she died Oct. 23, 2008. He served in Okinawa and Guam and was discharged on July 24, 1946. He then worked in the oil fields on a drilling rig untill March 1953, when the family moved to a farm near Cedar Bluffs, Neb. He farmed until retiring in 1988. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont, a membor of American Legion Post 158 of Cedar Bluffs, where he held many post, county, district and state offices including State Commander, State Convention Committee and served over 20 years on the Boys State Committee. He was also president of the Cornhusker Boys State Corps., a member of Voiture 1010, 40 & 8 of Dodge County. He served five years on the Nebraska Wheat Board, 20 years on the Cedar Bluffs Farmers Union Co-op Board and served on the Cedar Bluffs School District 107 Board. Survivors include: two daughters, Mellody (Mrs. Mike) Fairbanks of Blair Neb., and Edie (Mrs. Randy) Kavan of Cedar Bluffs, Neb; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a brother Robert J. Farr Jr.
