He came to Taylor county, Iowa, when three years of age. On February 22, 1874 he was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth McKee. Read More	Smith, Edward -Edward Smith was born January 5, 1852 in Platt county, Missouri, and died at his home in Bedford Thursday, April 18 at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 13 days. He came to Taylor county, Iowa, when three years of age. On February 22, 1874 he was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth McKee. They made their home at Siam for many years, where Mr Smith was in the mercantile business. To them were born nine chldren: Thomas, Simeon and Loretta, who preceded their father in death; Rufus R. Smith of Burbank, Calif, Marion Williams of Hopkins, Lettie Huntsman of Fresno, Calif, Mary M. Arthur of Hopkins, Jennie Duncan of North Hollywood, Calif, William S. Smith of Bedford. Surviving with the wife and six children are 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great, great, grandchildren. All of the children were present to help care for their father during his illness and attend the last rites, with the exception of one son, Rufus Smith of Burbank, California.
