Description	:	Edward Thomas Holste, 65 years of age, of rural Oxford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 8, 2012 at his home north of Oxford, NE. Edward was born November 11, 1946 on the family farm north of Oxford in Harlan County, NE., the eldest of three children born to Albert and Anna (Cline) Holste. Edward received his primary education from Mascot Schools, Mascot, NE. and then graduated from Oxford (NE.) High School with the class of 1965. Edward was born November 11, 1946 on the family farm north of Oxford in Harlan County, NE., the eldest of three children born to Albert and Anna (Cline) Holste. Edward received his primary education from Mascot Schools, Mascot, NE. and then graduated from Oxford (NE.) High School with the class of 1965. Edward then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, NE. where he received his bachelor's degree. On October 25, 1969 he was united in marriage to Shirley Harms at Holdrege, NE. and to this union four children were born: Kirstin, twin sons: Christopher and Nicholas and Kylee. The family made their home north of Oxford, NE. Edward was employed by KN Energy at the pipe yard in Holdrege, NE. for several years. He also engaged in farming and ranching, which was his true passion in life. At the time of his passing he was still active with his Cow/Calf operation. Edward enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, attending his children's activities and in most recent years he never missed his grandchildren's activities. Edward was preceded in death by: parents. Edward is survived by: children: Kirstin Schelling and her husband, Don of Haxtun, CO., Chris Holste and his wife, Stephanie of Oxford, NE., Nick Holste and his wife, Holly of Oxford, NE. and Kylee Eckhardt and her husband, Jeremy of Minden, NE.; grandchildren: Marissa, Ciera, and Kaiden Schelling, Braden and Lily Holste, Bailey, Brett, and Kennedy Eckhardt, and Sarah and Natalee Holste; sister, Elizabeth Kosmicki and her husband, Delphie of Grand Island, NE.; brother, Robert Holste and his wife, Deb of Holdrege, NE. and a host of relatives and friends. Inurnment was in the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on October 9, 2012
