News of his death at Elk Basin, Wyoming, was received Friday morning. Cause of sudden death was influenza Pneumonia. Mr. Peck was born in 1864at Berlin, New York. In 1871 his father moved to Nebraska and in 1884, the family came to Park City, settling with the Ripon Colony, founders of Park City. He returned to Nebraska the next summer and in 1889 married Miss Emma Tracy. He again came to Montana arriving in Park City in 1893 accompanied by his family. Later he homesteaded in Lake Basin territory. Here he operated a coal mine which furnished fuel for many families in the territory and he was connected with various projects. After he and his family had returned from Lake Basin and were residing in property occupied now by Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Johnson, Mr. Peck received the appointment of postmaster for Park City and served in that capacity during Wilson's administration. From here the family moved to Bearcreek, engaging in the hotel business. Later Mr. Peck moved to Elk Basin where he was engaged in the dairy business. He leaves besides his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Russell Vaughn, Albion, Michigan, Mrs. George Freeman of Billings and Mrs. Lydia Kagi of Cody, Wyoming. A daughter was drowned in earlier years, while a son, Cecil, died during the influenza epidemic of 1918. E. E. Peck of Park City and Rev. A. T. Peck of Lavina are surviving brothers.
