From the St. Paul Phonograph, November 17, 1882, page 5, (poor copy). DIED - On Wednesday morning Nov. 15th, 1882, of consumption, Lydia A. wife of E. L. Peck, aged forty years. Mrs. Peck was born in Otsego county, N. Y. in 1842, where she lived until her marriage to Mr. Peck in 1860. In 1872 they moved to this county, being one of the first families to settle in the North Loup valley, where they have since resided. Mrs. Peck is the mother of a large family of children, some of whom are quite young. She was an active member of the M. E. Church, and leaves a large circle of warm friends who mourn her death and sympathize with the bereaved husband and family. Her health has been failing for over a year and last summer, hoping to restore it, Mr. Peck started west with her in a covered wagon. Living in the open air seemed to agree with her, and feeling much better, they returned to their home near St. Paul, to live through the winter, intending to return in the spring. Immediately upon their arrival home, her health again began to fail, and Wednesday morning she passed away, a victim of that fatal disease consumption. The funeral service took place Thursday at 2 o'clock p.m. at the M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. Senser.
