Gillispie—Ed W. Gillispie died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Gillispie, east of Reserve, last Tuesday morning. His death was caused by consumption. Ed had made his home in Chicago for about 18 years. He was a druggist there until his health failed, so he came home in November. He went to Texas thinking to get better but grew worse all the time, so came home to his parents to spend his last days, although his folks and friends knew he could not get well. His death came so sudden it was a shock to the whole community. All that kind, loving hands could do to relieve his suffering was done, and, Dr. Gillispie, his brother, stayed by him night and day and did all in his power to make his last days as easy as possible, but God, who knows best, took him home at last, where there is no more pain or sorrow. The funeral services were held at the home east of Reserve. The many friends of Ed showed their great love for him by the beautiful flowers they brought and laid on his casket as the last token of love and respect they could show to him. He was buried in the Hart cemetery. Ed leaves a father, mother, and five brothers, and four sisters: Dr. S. T. Gillispie and Sherman Gillispie of Reserve; Henry and Jeff Gillispie, both druggists, Chicago, and James Gillispie, who is attending medical college in Chicago. His sisters are: Mrs. M. Grove, Mrs. Ed Koso, Mrs. Lee Green and Mrs. W. Thompson of Texas. He also leaves a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Ed was a Mason and had reached the highest degree.
