Description	:	Edward was the son of William Livingston (Jan 1813 - 8 Sept 1892) and Jane Grove (21 APR 1815 - 22 MAR 1904). June 20, 1941 - Carroll Herald - E.Y. Livingston, retired contractor and builder, died of a heart attack at his home on North East Street at 6:55 pm Thursday, his death occurring about 3 hours after he had been brought home from the St. Anthony Hospital where he had undergone an operation June 10. Mr. Livingston would have been 83 years old in July. The body will be brought home from the Huffman Funeral Home Saturdy morning to rest there until it is returned Sunday morning to the funeral home where rites will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Rev. R.J. MacDaniel, minister of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate, burial will be in the Carroll Cemetery. Mr. Livingston had spent virtually all of his life in Carroll County. He was born July 28, 1858 at Hopewell, PA, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Livingston. He attended school at Hopewell and also at Old Carrollton to which place his parents brought their family on April 1, 1870. At that time Carrollton was the county seat of Carroll County. April 21, 1881 Mr Livingston married Edith Herring, a native of Cedar Coounty. They were parents of four children, three of whom survive: Selby G. Livingston and Frank M. Livingston of Manning, and Mrs. Inez Dunn of Cherokee. Another daughter, Mrs. Ada Oldecker died at Longmount, Colorado in 1931. The mother of these children died July 26, 1893. Jan 20, 1896, Mr Livingston was married to Mrs. Leota May English. They lived in Manilla 1 year, Manning for a short time, 1 and 1/2 year at Perry before locating at Carroll, home for about 40 years. Additional to his wife and 2 sons and daughter, he is survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the last of a family of six boys and 2 girls, 3 of the older brothers were veterans of the Civil War under General US Grant.
