He was preceded in death by his parents, Agatha and Michael; sons, Stanley, and Gary; nine siblings; and his wife, Esther who he was married to for 56 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Agatha and Michael; sons, Stanley, and Gary; nine siblings; and his wife, Esther who he was married to for 56 years. Edwin is survived by his children, Stephen Brungardt his wife Bobbie, Kathy Clark her husband Chris, Stuart Brungardt, and Barbara Brungardt; fourteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5:00-7:00pm, at Olinger Hampden Mortuary, 8600 E. Hampden Ave., Denver, CO. A celebration of life service will take place at Olinger Hampden Mortuary on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:00am with a reception to follow. Burial will take place at 2:00pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, (12801 W 44th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO.) where he will be laid to rest next to the love of his life and two sons. Edwin was known as an extremely hard working person throughout his life. He spent over 50 years of his life working for Mayflower Moving and Storage as long-haul truck driver. After retiring from Mayflower he then spent over 12 years working for Walmart as a greeter, he worked late into his 80‘s. He was admired by all his children as a loving father who was always there in time of need. The care and support he provided to them had no equal. He was always there to help them get through any crisis they were in. Edwin was instantly loved by everyone he encountered. He had such a laid back and comforting demeanor that few possess. Even in his later years the nurses that cared for him fell in love with his simple and quiet personality. He was a man of few words who’s generosity and caring knew no boundaries. Some of the fondest memories his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have is when he would come into town and they would get to play in his semi-truck, blowing the air horn and acting like they were driving down the road just like him! Several of them were able to take special trips with him over the years. Even Esther road with him for a few years of his career. He was lovingly nicknamed Fast Eddie by his family in his later years. A nickname which stuck and was used by those who loved him most. He even had “FSTEDE” on his license plate. Throughout his life he had a great love for animals and babies. He could spend hours just watching the birds eat from his bird feeder outside of his room. He also had a calming touch with babies that was unmistakable. Babies instantly became calm and content when he held them despite how upset they were. It truly was a unique and unrivaled talent that he was blessed with. Although he will be missed dearly by his family and friends they all take solitude that he is now with his loved ones on the other side. He is whole, happy, and strong again…
