Read More	OVERBROOK -- Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church here for Edwin Earl Lee, 90, Overbrook, who died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at a nursing home here. He was born Dec. 3, 1908, in Michigan Valley, to Amos Scott and Hattie Vann Lee. He graduated from Michigan Valley High School in 1926. He attended Kansas State Agricultural College in Manhattan for three years and received a teaching certificate. He taught in schools in Wabaunsee and Osage counties for 11 years, the last six as principal at Eskridge Grade School.Mr. Lee served several years as treasurer of the Overbrook Grade School board and later was a director on the Overbrook High School board for two terms. He helped manage the Overbrook Junior Legion baseball team several years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in 1944 and 1945. He was a life member of Anderson-Raible Post No. 239 of the American Legion in Overbrook, was the first commander of the Osage County Council of the American Legion and had served on the Fourth District executive committee of the Legion three years. He was a member of Ridgeway Lodge No. 62, AF&AM, in Overbrook, the Forbes and Lake Shawnee Golf clubs in Topeka and a charter member of the Overbrook Golf Association. He and Inez Pearl Herlan were married Aug. 24, 1934, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include a son, James E. Lee, Overland Park; three daughters, Janice O. Hardesty, Tecumseh, Mary Jane Hylton, Overbrook, and Judith A. Miles, Carbondale; a brother, Floyd H. Lee, Topeka; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The American Legion will conduct graveside services at Overbrook Cemetery. Mr. Lee will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Greenwood-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Overbrook where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Mr. Lee will lie in state after noon Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Osage Fire District No. 4, Emergency Medical Services or the American Legion and sent in care of the funeral home. Topeka Capital-Journal, The, May 18, 1999
