Read More	A memorial mass will be held Saturday for Edwin Harold Giacomini, who passed away March 15, 1998. in Fortuna at the age of 74. He was a resident of Fortuna. A lifelong resident of Humboldt County, Mr. Giacomini was born Feb. 9. 1924, in Alton. He lived his entire life in the Ferndale area where he was a dairy rancher for many years. He was also a life insurance agent and car salesman. After his retirement in 1987, he and his wife, Evelyn, moved to Fortuna to make their home. Mr. Giacomini loved woodworking and enjoyed working outdoors in the garden. He enjoyed starting seeds, and watching them grow gave him much pleasure. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and being part of their lives. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn Elaine Giacomini of Fortuna; his three sons and their spouses, Mike and Vicky Giacomini of Fortuna, Cliff and Dot Giacomini of Fortuna, and Gary and Alonna Giacomini of Bishop; his four brothers and three sisters and their spouses, John and Lois Giacomini, Joe and Helen Giacomini, Mary Ellen and Sev Laffranchi, Ernest and Natalie Giacomini, Rose and Bill Beall, Harold and Laurel Giacomini, and Leonna and Bill Vertress; his brother-i n-law, Charles Young; his sister-in-law, Lily Mello and her husband, Tony; seven grandchildren, Sherry Pyon Giacomini, Zeb Giacomini, Amy Giacomini, Maria Giacomini, Christina Giacomini, Joey Giacomini and Glenn and Noelle Overstreet. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, as well as special friends, Joe and Anna Toste, JoAnne Alves, Tim Toste, Tom Toste, Joel Toste, Emily Lema, Gertrude and Van Smith, and Tony and Marguerite Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rose Giacomini; two brothers, Eugene Giacomini and Francis Giacomini; his sister, Lucille Giacomini Young; and by three nephews, John Vertrees, Steven Giacomini and Eddie Giacomini. Friends are invited to attend Vigil services Friday, March 20, 1998, at 7 P.M. at Goble's Chapel, Fortuna. Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be offered Saturday, March 21, 1998, at 10 A.M. at Assumption church, Ferndale, with Father Denis Doyle celebrant. Private interment will be at Sunrise Cemetery, Fortuna.
