Description	:	Frankfort, Kansas, Index Saturday, November 8, 1941 Mrs. Effie Sadie Orchard, daughter of Andrew Jackson and Margaret Waxler, was born near Frankfort,Kansas on July 9,1880 and departed this life at Omaha, Nebraska on November 2, 1941 at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 23 days. On February 17, 1898, she was married to William Orchard of Vermillion, Kansas. to this union was born two sons, Harry Orchard, Detroit, Michigan and Vernon Orchard, Baileyville, Kansas. At an early age she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Vliets, Kansas. She remained faithful to this faith until her death. always ready to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed... On February 17, 1898, she was married to William Orchard of Vermillion, Kansas. to this union was born two sons, Harry Orchard, Detroit, Michigan and Vernon Orchard, Baileyville, Kansas. At an early age she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Vliets, Kansas. She remained faithful to this faith until her death. always ready to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed in the church. After her marriage to Mr. Orchard, they made their home on a farm southwest of Vermillion Kansas until ten years ago when she became chief operator at the Vermillion telephone exchange, a position she kept until four months ago, when ill health forced her to give it up. Going to Omaha, Nebraska, in July to enter a hospital and later to the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy Mills, she was given the best medical care and attention. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband William; two sons, one sister, Mrs. Daisy Caldwell, Frankfort, Kansas, three brothers, Herman Waxler, Frankfort, Kansas, Ewing Waxler, Brazil, Indiana, Rex Waxler, Ver- million, Kanas; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Vermillion, Kansas on Tuesday afternoon with Reverend Howard Sanders officiating. Interment was in the Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kansas.
