In 1903, they moved back to Marshall County, KS. In 1914, the family moved to Coffey County, KS, where Ehler's brother Christian moved to around 1912. They farmed for a livelihood and lived in the Leroy area. Daughter Mary and her husband William Krueger took Anna into their home when she needed care. She was 69 when she passed away. The Krueger's later opened their home to Ehler, and he lived with them until his death in 1951. He was nearly 91.
