She passed away Sunday Jan 3, 2016, in her local home. She was born January 28, 1925, in Casper Wyoming to William & Mary Johnston. Eileen was raised and educated in Casper, Wyoming and moved to Chico in 1947 & worked as a secretary for Sierra Tractor. On March 18, 1949 she married Eldon Peters in Reno, Nevada. She was baptized October 10, 1949 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and remained a loyal member, wife and mother for the rest of her life. She enjoyed a good laugh, playing the piano, flowers, poetry, and baking for her family. Survivors include three daughters, Jeanette Wehnau of Chico, Nancy Caulkins of Eagle Point, OR, Julie Wick of Hillsboro, OR; a son, Philip Peters of Chico; five brothers, Ralph Johnston, Phil Johnston, Frank Johnston, Bill Johnston, Tom Johnston; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on Jan. 14, 2016.
