The Odebolt Chronicle - Thu, Jun 6, 1935 - Mr and Mrs Henry Perry are mourning the death of their youngest daughter, Eileen Janette, who passed away about 8:30 o'clock Saturday morning, June 1, after a short illness from scarlet fever. "Patsy" as she was called was taken sick with the fever Tuesday night and suddenly became worse Thursday night. It seemed that nothing could be done to relieve her and the little life went out. The child was born in Levey township, near Wall Lake, Feb 5, 1932 and was three years, three months and 26 days old at the time of her death. Her older sister, Katherine, had the disease in the earlier days of the epidemic and Eileen did not contract it at that time. After it was thought that all danger was past she took it. She was a sweet child and her death is a great loss to the home. Brief funeral services were held on the lawn at the home on Market street Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev J Farnham, pastor of the Methodist church. The little one was taken to Carroll for burial. The parents and one sister, Katherine, 5 years old are left; also her grandparents, Mr and Mrs Fred Goodge of Dickens; Wilbur Perry of Lake View; Mrs Foxworthy of Scranton; and great grandmother Mrs Janette Robinson of Odebolt. Relatives from a distance who came for the funeral were: Mrs and Mrs Fred Goodge, grandparents; Mrs Evelyn Mau and Harry Hanson of Dickens; Mrs Mildred Beck and Mrs W.H. Harrison of Carroll. Mrs Foxworthy of Scranton, mother of Mrs Perry came a couple of days prior to the death of the child and was quarantined with them.
