Description	:	FAIRFIELD - Eileen M. Moroney, 87 passed away quietly at the Maine Veterans' Home in Augusta on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. Eileen was born in Fairfield on Aug. 16, 1922, the daughter of Joe and Blanche (Thibodeau) Donahue. She grew up in Fairfield, graduating from Immaculate Heart of Mary grade school in 1935, Lawrence High School in 1939, and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston in 1943. Read More	FAIRFIELD - Eileen M. Moroney, 87 passed away quietly at the Maine Veterans' Home in Augusta on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. Eileen was born in Fairfield on Aug. 16, 1922, the daughter of Joe and Blanche (Thibodeau) Donahue. She grew up in Fairfield, graduating from Immaculate Heart of Mary grade school in 1935, Lawrence High School in 1939, and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Lewiston in 1943. Eileen served in the Navy Nurse Corps from 1944 to 1946 at the rank of lieutenant junior grade. She met Bob Moroney of Chicago while they were both stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, Calif. They were married there on Feb. 23, 1946, in full dress naval uniforms. Eileen and Bob were happily married for 61 years. Eileen worked professionally as a registered nurse for more than 25 years. She worked at Thayer Hospital in Waterville for several years and was a head nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn., for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Moroney and her husband, Fred Schmook, of Pray, Mont.; son, Rick Moroney of Bozeman, Mont.; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Moroney of Fairfield; grandchildren, Bridget (Moroney) West and her husband, Jeff, of Winslow, Susan (Moroney) Nadeau and her husband, Wayne, of Fairfield, Jane Moroney and her partner, Brad Bellows, of China, Kara Moroney of Missoula, Mont., Owen Moroney of Bellingham, Wash., and Nell Moroney of Bozeman, Mont.; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Emily West of Winslow, Allie and Anna Nadeau of Fairfield; brother, David Donahue and his wife, Julie, of Benton; sisters, Dorothy (Donahue) Darcy of Delaware, Ohio, Sheila (Donahue) Audet and her husband, Jerry, of Fairfield; many sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2007; her son, Bobby, in 2008; her parents, Blanche and Joe Donahue; brothers, Dan, Jimmy, Jerry "Bunny," Billy, and Pat Donahue.
