Description	:	Eileen Goodrich, 93, daughter of Morton and Angeline (Carris) Smithson, was born December 8, 1926 near Perry, Iowa. She passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the Guthrie County Hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa. Eileen graduated from Linden High School. On December 15, 1948, she married Leonard L. Goodrich in Perry, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Christine and Marty. They made their home on a farm near Linden. Read More	Eileen Goodrich, 93, daughter of Morton and Angeline (Carris) Smithson, was born December 8, 1926 near Perry, Iowa. She passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the Guthrie County Hospital, Guthrie Center, Iowa. Eileen graduated from Linden High School. On December 15, 1948, she married Leonard L. Goodrich in Perry, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Christine and Marty. They made their home on a farm near Linden. Eileen was known as the “Cake Lady” because she made cakes for every occasion for residents of the area. She did this from 1965 until 2005 when she and Leonard retired and moved to Lake Panorama in November 2005. Following Leonard’s death, in 2007, she continued to live at the Lake and would make an occasional cake for those that requested one. She and Leonard enjoyed square dancing together up until around 2000 when they stopped. Eileen was a member of the Panora United Methodist Church. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Christine; and son, Marty. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; brothers, Dale and Ted Smithson; and sisters, Marjorie Parlee and Helene Crowl. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be in West Linn Cemetery, near Linden, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2020 from 5 - 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
