Description	:	Mrs. Eka Koop, longtime resident of the Kamrar community, died on Thursday, May 7. Death was due to a heart attack. She had been in failing health for several years. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Koop home in Kamrar and at 1:30 at the First Presbyterian church east of Kamrar with Rev. A. Cramer officiating. Mrs. Eka Welp, oldest daughter of Fred and Jessie Welp, was born May 19, 1883 at Wymeer Ostfriesland, Germany, and died May 7, 1953 at Kamrar, Iowa, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 18 days. She came with her parents to America in May, 1890, at the age of 7 years. They settled on a farm south of Blairsburg. She attended the rural schools. In February, 1902, she was united in marriage to Mr. W. W. Koop of Kamrar. They moved to a farm 4 miles southeast of Kamrar where she resided until about 8 years ago when she moved into Kamrar. She had been a member of the First Presbyterian church at Kamrar for over 50 years. Mrs. Koop leaves to mourn her departure 2 sons and 6 daughters - Paul of Kamrar; Andrew of El Monte, Calif.; Mrs. Sam (Harmka) Huisman of Hillsdale, Wisconsin; Mrs. Joe (Jessie) Rigter of Kamrar; Mrs. William (Jennie) Naber of Webster City; Mrs. Henry (Eka) Naber of Kamrar; Mrs. James (Jeanette) Greenfield of Kamrar; and Mrs. Laurence (Wilma) Stoppelmoor of El Monte, California. She also had 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 brother - Ed Welp of Webster City, 2 sisters - Mrs. Ella Johnson of Armstrong, Iowa, and Mrs. Helmuth Pegorsch of St. Paul, Minnesota and a host of relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 sons - Calvin, Wiebrandt and Fred, and 1 daughter, AlBertha. She was a kind and loving mother, always ready and so willing to lend a helping hand. She will be missed so much by her family, relatives, and a host of friends.
