She grew up in Beaver Crossing, attended grade school in Seward, Nebraska before graduating from Beaver Crossing High School. Elaine married Orie Roth on October 24, 1959 and they were blessed with four children: Rex, Kim, Marliss and Gene. Elaine and Orie raised their family in Elkhorn. Elaine worked at several secretarial jobs before starting her own business. She operated International Spice in Elkhorn and then Fremont for many years. Elaine enjoyed quilting, knitting and playing cards. Her many activities included: Care and Share at Church, card club, quilting club and hosting Bible study at her home. Family was paramount to Elaine, family vacations, holidays, Sunday dinners after church, traveling and having the grandchildren stay over-night. She enjoyed country and gospel music, trips to the casino, was an avid Husker fan and savored dinner out at Jerico’s. Elaine was a generous woman, strong in faith and devoted to her family.
