Description	:	Immigrated in 1826 with her parents - some of the early settlers of St. Marys. David & Eleanora (Scott) Armstrong, were among the early residents of the village that sprang up at the old fort site at what was then the head of navigation on the St. Marys River. It was a ragged and straggling frontier village, with only a few widely separated settlements between it and Fort Wayne. The Indians had left this part of Ohio just the year before, in 1832. David Armstrong (Jr.) was born 9/28/1833 in a log cabin along the riverside at what later became the corner of Front and High Streets. His father, David Sr., died when he was only 3 months old.
