She passed away at Fort Collins, Col., June 2, 1935, at the age of 29 years, 6 months and 7 days. Her untimely death came as a distinct shock to the family, relatives and friends. Elda grew to womanhood in the neighborhood in which she was born. She completed her common school education and graduated from the eighth grade in school district No. 60, Momence Township. Her high school work was taken at Sutton, followed by a two year college course at York. In youth's golden days, under the influence of a Christian home, she yielded her life to God, and gave her hand to the church, casting her lot with Grace United Brethren in Christ, in which she was a member at the time of her death. In her Christian life she was most earnest and radiated a kindly disposition and spirit of helpfulness to those about her. These together with her optimism and cheery smiles will linger as sweet memories. On December 14, 1929, she was united in marriage to Jess A. Webb of Lincoln, Neb. To this union were born two children, Marilyn Fae and an infant daughter, Elda Mae. She leaves her husband and two little ones of LaPorte, Col.; her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson of Sutton; two sisters, and two brothers; Mrs. Vera Hull of Lincoln and Helen, and Howard and Leland of Sutton, numerous relatives and a wide circle of friends. The funeral was held from the house at 1;30 and at 2 o'clock from the Methodist Church at Sutton. The scripture used was the first and twenty-third Psalms. A mixed quartet sang "The End of the Road Glory for Me" and "Good Night Here and Good Morning Up There. Rev. F. R. Wild, pastor of Grace United Brethren Church, had charge of the service.
